Platinum is definitely a very interesting alternative to the white gold option. White gold does not exist in nature, reason why it derives from the union between yellow gold and other metals.

However, the colour is still yellowish, not perfectly white and, therefore, shining. For this reason, the rhodium plating process is here applied. Over the time, the rhodium layer wears out and the wedding bands lose their initial brilliance and the colour tends to turn yellow, for this reason the rhodium plating process will have to be repeated periodically.
